Learn about payouts

How money is received on Cube

A payout on Cube happens when it's your turn to win a cycle.

Cube payouts are designed to be fast, direct, and predictable. There's no waiting for funds to clear inside the app, and no balance sitting in limbo. When you win, money moves straight to you.

What happens when you're the winner

When a cycle winner is selected, all members in that Cube are notified at the same time. If you're the winner, you'll see it clearly in the app.

Other members are prompted to send their contributions to you using the payment method you've connected, either Zelle or Venmo. You do not need to send a contribution during the cycle you win.

As contributions come in, you'll confirm each one in the app. Once confirmed, they're marked complete and visible to the rest of the Cube.

How payouts are received

Payouts are not processed or held by Cube.

Each contribution is sent directly from member to winner using the selected payment method. That means:

  • Funds arrive as fast as your payment app allows
  • There's no Cube wallet or payout delay
  • You receive money the same way you would from a friend

Cube coordinates the timing and records the status, but the money never passes through Cube.

Transparency during payouts

On the Cube detail page, everyone can see:

  • Who the current winner is
  • How many contributions have been completed
  • Which payments are still pending

This visibility keeps expectations clear and prevents confusion or follow-ups outside the app.

If a contribution is delayed

Not every payment arrives instantly. If a member submits proof of payment but you haven't seen it yet, Cube helps manage the situation without pausing the Cube or disrupting future cycles. Cube's goal during payouts is simple: keep the cycle moving while making sure everyone is treated fairly.

When payouts finish

Once all required contributions for the cycle are confirmed, that payout is complete. The Cube then moves forward to the next cycle with a new winner selected from the remaining eligible members.

Why Cube handles payouts this way

Cube keeps payouts simple on purpose.

No custody.
No processing delays.
No confusion about where your money is.

You know when it's your turn.
You receive funds directly.
And every payout is visible, documented, and tied to the cycle.

That's how Cube makes group saving feel reliable every single time.
